safe to say, God moved a lot this year.
I just turned the big 23-yay! One of the traditions I do before I go to sleep and my birthday is officially over, is I sit on my bedroom floor and write down the “highlights of my year.” I take a moment of reflection, scroll through my camera roll, and see all the ways the Lord provided and answered prayers that year.
As I was reflecting on my year as a 22-year-old, I came to the conclusion that this was the year I have learned the most. I graduated college this year, got my first job, and the list goes on…
As your sister and friend, I wanted to share with you some of the lessons I have learned. So here we go!
22 lessons learned when I was 22 years old.
- Individualistic- God’s plan for you. No one in this entire world has the same unique plan as you. God designed and tailored everything to YOU and for YOU!
- The impossible, is possible. Even when this world makes it look like things are impossible, God likes to show that is is possible. Heck, Jesus is MOVING on Tiktok… Who would have thought!
- Make everyday the best day ever! There is a reason why you are here TODAY. You can’t go back to yesterday and tomorrow is way in the future. Make today, the best one yet!
- God’s timing is PERFECT. Every detail is orchestrated by Him to make everything happen in order. God is never in a rush, we are.
- Desires are put on your heart for a reason. Pray and ask Him to show you want He wants to do with them.
- The only person standing in the way of your dream, is you. Go after it!
- He is a constant and consistent best friend. After a year of change, I realized He is the most faithful friend. He will never leave your side.
- God LOVES to surprise us. Did I make plans after college? yes. Did they happen? no. Did God have something SO much better planned? yes.
- If you smiled one time today, it was a good day!
- When you are doubtful and worried, remember the times God was faithful in your life. He has given us a memory for THIS!
- It is possible to wake up at 4:30 in the morning everyday. Yep, this is my new life hahah.
- The friendships in your life are meant to be reflections of the friend Jesus is to you. *mic drop*
- Celebrate others A LOT! When your friends are going through big changes and happy moments, you want to be the one who is their number one cheerlesader.
- If it is not good yet, that means He isn’t done.
- God is GOOD all the time. Even in the moments you think He is not, He always working for our good.
- Have a servant’s heart and SERVE. Trust me, you will love it
- The best feeling in the world is knowing you are being used by God. You have a purpose, you are annointed, and you are chosen for Him!
- Your gift/ talent was not given to you by accident, there is a purpose for it. Use it to spread His name.
- Everyone is going through something behind the scenes- love on them! Even your friends and family. Check up on them often.
- Dad: “Jorja, what is your middle name?” Me: “Faith.” Dad: “Use it.” The conversation that changed everything for me this year. Dad if you are reading this, I can’t thank you enough.
- I have a lot of friends that call me “Jo” now and I actually love it. So, fun fact… my nickname is Jo and that is why on Tiktok I made sure to call my account “Jesus and Jo.” I wanted my followers to feel like they are my friends. 🙂
- The only opinion that matters is His. Never let anyone stop you from doing what He has called you to do.
